On the promo trail for K-Ci & JoJo’s Love Life tour I’m opening for next month, I performed & was interviewed on the Good Morning show in Wellington yesterday.
Massive thanks to the whole team over there for having me & to the man, Brendon Pongia, for the chat. Hadn’t seen each other in a couple years, so this was pretty much a real catch-up, just on TV! Click the screen cap to check the interview:
Sending a big ShoutOut to NYC celebrity/lifestyle blog, Cotten Kandi, for featuring me. Being compared to someone like Bruno Mars is really an honor, such kind words… I appreciate it!
OK this is just certifiable craziness now. Since July, I’ve been blessed to support three of my favorite R&B artists ever on tour: Brian McKnight, Joe & Eric Benet. I can finally share with you guys (had to keep it a secret for weeks man!) I’ve been invited to open for K-Ci & JoJo on there Australia/New Zealand tour!
True story… When I first moved to Sydney from NZ with the group I was in, Jireh, a couple of us would get all dressed up & go up to people in Pitt Street Mall, asking if they wanted a song in exchange for a donation. Was like one-on-one busking! It’s funny, our two most popular songs were Back At One (Brian McKnight) & All My Life (K-Ci & JoJo). It’s so surreal that at the end of this year I would’ve opened for both those artists. Thank you, Able Touring!
The stars of Australia’s film industry gathered on Sunday, October 16 to celebrate the release of Joel Edgerton’s latest flick, Warrior.
Joel Edgerton, Nash Edgerton, Ronan Keating,Emma Ralph,Barry Southgate and Damien Walshe Howling arrived looking dolled up and glam for an event that was a celebration of Edgerton’s rise in the american film industry and back home. Also starring in The Thing (out now) Edgerton is working on a host of films, including Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.

NinetoFive’s James Gorman caught up with Edgerton and fellow guest Ronan Keating on the red carpet.
The film is about two estranged brothers who are pitted against one another in a Mixed Martial Arts fighting ring.
Ex-Marine Tommy Riodan (Tom Hardy) returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh to see his father (Nick Nolte), a recovering alcoholic and former coach. Tommy enlists his father to help him train for an MMA tournament with a huge prize jackpot.
Tommy’s brother, Brendan (Joel Edgerton) a former MMA fighter is finding it impossible to make ends meet as a school teacher, so he returns to ring to help provide for his family.
Brendan’s rise as an underdog fighter sets him up to fight with Tommy. The pair finally confront the issues that tore them apart in an all out battle where the winner takes all.
So far, box office stats show the film is popular with audiences, grossing more than $5 million in its first week.
It’s a good sign for Edgerton: the better the box office, the better roles on offer.
Was mentioned in the Liverpool Champion (a local Sydney newspaper) earlier this week, alongside my friends Stan Walker & Justice Crew, for wearing an Exodus jacket.
You guys may remember, I rocked an Exodus jacket during the Brian McKnight tour a few months ago, that I had customized with studs, my initials & a cross on the back. Click this pic to check out the full photo album:

Still can’t believe I got to support Eric Benet last week in Sydney. It’s hard to put into words what it’s like when you come face to face with someone you listened to as far back as the CD Discman (who remembers those things?). It’s crazy man… Really was an incredible experience.
Watching Eric perform, I got schooled completely, the man’s skill is ridiculous. Like Joe & Brian McKnight before that, hearing him sing live was like listening to the record – really that good. Learned a lot watching him. He’s a cool guy too, was surreal getting to meet him & talk about Twitter (haha…). Huge shout-out to Delta Bravo Presents for having me, I loved it.
All of that aside, it was just cool to catch up friends too. A lot of the time (especially when it comes to mates in the industry) everyone’s busy 24/7, it’s like mission impossible to pin each other down. So events & shows like these are almost kinda like high school reunions, everyone’s excited to see each other (haha…). Fun times. A few snaps from the night…
A couple of weeks ago I attended Jessica Mauboy’s Up, Close & Personal event, hosted by Mix 106.5 FM.
Out of the blue, she called onstage for an impromptu jam. I though it was pretty cool (& brave) of Jessica to do, considering we’d never sung together before & I didn’t even know the song (haha…)! Totally on the spot & so much fun.
So a lot of you have been messaging me saying The Fall is your favorite track from my new EP. Well, I have a surprise for you guys…
During the Epitome sessions, I asked my bro & amazing drummer, Mike “Big Mike” Clemons, to add his own spin to the song, for a special bonus version.
For those who don’t know, Mike’s an industry vet, having worked with some of R&B’s best, including Usher, Mary J. Blige & SWV. Basically, the dude’s got chops! He’s also husband of SWV’s lead singer, Coko, & we’re both part of Israel Houghton’s New Breed. So for all the Israel & New Breed fans, this is a shout-out to you guys too (haha…)!
This almost has a “live jam” feel to it, real Gospel/R&B vibes! Hope you guys like it…

Big thanks to US music blog, World According To Monte, for this feature. Really appreciate it. Honored to even be remotely mentioned in the company of Bruno Mars, Jason Mraz & Usher..!
