2013 Begins Now

Roller

2012 was the wildest rollercoaster ride of my life.

Exhilarating highs and devastating lows.  Truly some of my best and worst moments.  Most people would never have guessed – I tried my best not to let it show.

But I’m a firm believer that how we finish one season is how we enter the next.  And I’m so glad I can confidently say that I finished 2012 well.

Thank God for faithful family and friends who love me, for the powerful teacher that is hindsight, for the direction that comes from clear perspective and for hope.

I’m stronger than I’ve ever been before and am so excited about this next chapter!

2013 begins now.

Holiday Surprise | O Holy Night

Photography by Marianna Massey

So I’ve been secretly putting this together for you guys and it’s out on iTunes today!

I’m such a huge fan of 90’s R&B, the way artists used to harmonize and layer their vocals.  That was a huge inspiration for me recording this.

Please go get it & help spread the word!  Hope you like it.

Surprise :)…

The Bucket List

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of performing at the launch of the Bucket List for South African Tourism.

The showcase was hosted at Bondi Pavillion by Australian actor, Frankie J Holden, and travel presenter, Tim Charody.  An excerpt from the press release, along with some pictures:

“More than a movie starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, the Bucket List is that record of the ultimate experiences, everything you wanted to tick off before kicking the proverbial; and now South African Tourism is giving Australians the chance to discover what can be ticked off their list in the Rainbow Nation.

At a preview launch held at The Bucket List Bar and Restaurant within the scenic Bondi Pavilion last night, South African Tourism showcased their latest campaign, which aims to inspire Australian travelers to write down their Bucket Lists and start ticking them off in South Africa, a country which is home to most of these once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”

Wanna say a huge thankyou once again to South African Tourism for inviting me to sing.  I had a blast!

Paying Tribute To A Legend

I’ve been meaning to do a tribute to the great Whitney Houston ever since she passed away.  Here it is.

This is a Gospel-flavored vocal, it’s just how I chose to approach this song.  And hey, I’m still on meds recovering from sick vibes, so go easy on me :p…

New OCRF Ambassador

So I’ve been on tour lately, doing this roadshow for South African Tourism in New Zealand and Australia, which has been such a pretty ace experience.

And during the Auckland show last weekend, I got word of this.  I’m so proud to be a new ambassador for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation

These Moments Never Get Old

It’s only my first day back after returning from a mammoth 5 weeks in America, and the excitement is rivaling even my jetlag, enough to keep me wide awake.

Pretty cool finding this on my travels today.  The new Diafrix album I’m featured on is a Best Seller!  My boy, Stan Walker, is on track 7 there too.  These moments really never get old…

Glad to share a snippet of Throwback with you too.   As I said before, I wrote and sang the hook on it, totally 90’s R&B vibes (which I’m a huge fan of).  It’s up for grabs in music stores and on iTunes now, so make sure you cop yours!

Last but not least, I have to send BIG congrats to the song’s producer, Styalz Fuego, for just winning Producer Of The Year at today’s ARIA Nominations 2012 ceremony.  So well-deserved man!

Possibly the best post-travel day I’ve had so far :)…

Radar Reviews New Diafrix

Last year I won Radar Radio’s Unsigned Find competition.  This year I’m featured on an album that Radar just gave a nice 4/5 star rating!

It’s an honor to be keeping such great company on this project, just so much talent.  Throwback is the tune I’m featured on, and it’s my very first Hip Hop collaboration as a singer and songwriter ever.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can do it here.  Hope you enjoy!
