Pinctada Cable Beach Polo 2014

Pinctada 10

Last weekend I had the pleasure & privliedge of performing at the Pinctada Cable Beach Polo 2014.

From the ace opening night, to heading out on the Paspaley IV mother ship, to performing at the Polo, to Dinner Under The Stars on Cable Beach, man…  I was constantly pinching myself.  Honestly felt like I wasn’t even in Australia.

Special thanks to Marilynne for having me out there & making me feel like a king, I absolutely loved it.

Some video/pic highlights…

With the lovely Samantha Harris on opening night.

Office for the past few days.  Not mad at it.

An education on pearls & tasting pearl meat for the first time.  Awesome.

Upstairs aboard the Paspaley IV mother ship, the chef hooked up this killer spread for us. Wowsers. Hungry anyone?

After an ace first day of Cable Beach Polo, I had the privilege of being one of 160 guests invited to attend the Dinner Under The Stars, set on Cable Beach, just metres from the water. Guest chef, C. Barklay Dodge, flew in from Aspen (Colorado) to create an incredible 5-course menu that was nothing short of world-class. Wowsers. I've been blessed to travel the world & experience a lot of great things, but nothing quite like last night. Exquisite.

One of my favorite moments of the past few days.  These kids right here worked so hard, volunteering their time & cleaning up after the polo horses in the heat.  I wanted to do something fun for these little unsung heroes, so I had them join me on stage spur-of-moment for my last song.   I literally choreographed them live, during the the actual performance & they absolutely smashed it!   So good. The experience made their day, which makes me so happy.   It’s a small thing, but yet another reminder (for myself more than anyone) that when you just step out & take risks – especially when it involves lifting up others – you can’t go wrong.  – Photo by Yane Sotiroski
