The support from my fans continues to blow me away.
Some even traveled from interstate just to see me perform at Young Heroes Festival as part of Australia’s annual Youth Week. Man … that is just crazy to me! So grateful.

I recently hosted the JMA Entertainment’s Open Night.
JMA are responsible for forming Justice Crew and also for grooming talent. Jai Waetford, Omar Dean and myself all underwent training and preparation at JMA ahead of The X-Factor last year, so it was an honor to give back by hosting their Open Night.
Judging from the exciting new crop of talent I saw perform, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few of them on our screens again this year.

Reunion with some of my X-Factor fam. Always good. Spent an incredibly special, life-changing moment in time with these guys (and all the rest of the Top 12). Proud of everyone and so excited about what’s to come…

Couldn’t be more excited to finally share this with you guys on my birthday.
Sony artist Ginny Blackmore and I recorded these duets in New Zealand, live at Parachute Studios. We poured everything into these songs, it was one of the most incredible recording experiences I’ve ever had.
Here’s All Of Me by John Legend, and Say Something by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera.

So excited to share that last week I did the entertainment reporting for The Morning Show.
When you watch the footage below and see me sitting on that couch, it’s my TV presenting debut! First time ever doing it and had so much fun.
Click the pic on the bottom of the page to watch and stay tuned for more.

When Larry Emdur says, “You brought it”, on live TV your first time presenting, it can’t be a bad thing! Fun times with him and Kylie Gillies on The Morning Show.

Man, it’s a new page in my life in so many ways.
I’m learning a lot, growing a lot, living a lot and being challenged more than ever before. I’m becoming so much more OK with actually not having all the answers, and realizing:
“You know what, I don’t have to strive to be perfect anymore, or be anything other than just … me.”
A lot of times, I have to consciously fight and rebel against perfectionism, because for so long it had a strong grip on me. It’s not my natural bent. Perfectionism really enslaved me most of my life, but last year – after a series of events and a culmination of experiences – something just broke inside.
Ever since that moment, it’s been like meeting someone new for the first time.
2014 is all about continuing along that new path. Wanna thank everyone who’s been in my corner, whether you’re close to me or supporting from afar. That you love, encourage and have my back means the world – for real.
I’ve never been more excited about life. Let’s get it!

Mention in Sydney Morning Herald about Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar. Was invited to do the I Quit Sugar 8-Week Program, and one week in – though it’s been challenging – I feel a lot better.
Check out what it’s all about at www.iquitsugar.com and read the article below.

To say that this past weekend has been special is an understatement.
What an incredible moment performing with my Jireh family again – more than a decade later – at Parachute Festival. We reunited in tribute of Audrey Phillips, who we lost last year.
Man… In so many ways, this past week has just set my 2014 up so beautifully. Here are a just a few of the many memories made…

Hey guys, where you at :p?
Everyday I’m stunned by the amazing creativity of my fans and supporters, as I’m constantly tagged in new artwork. I’ve done this before, but it’s about time for another round of the BCS Fan Art Competition!
How to play:
Step 1
Make some Barry Southgate artwork. You can use screencaps, X-Factor pics, something handmade – whatever gets you feeling creative.
Step 2
Include the hashtags: #BarrySouthgate #BCSFanArtComp #WhereYouAt
Step 3
Upload your artwork to Instagram and Facebook.
The competition closes at midnight on Sunday, February 2nd (Sydney time). Three winners will be picked at random and announced early the following week. They’ll then be contacted directly to receive a phone call from me.
Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
